Wrinkles on your forehead might start to appear because of age, repeated expressions, genetics, and sunlight exposure. While you can’t totally get rid of forehead wrinkles, some natural remedies can actually help in making them less visible. The key is to focus on products and techniques that can help with retaining the skin’s moisture and elasticity.
When we at Bright Side researched different remedies, we made sure to focus on ones that you can use daily and that you don’t need to search the world to find.
Bananas are great for skin care, especially for your forehead. It contains vitamins and natural oils that give the skin a healthy boost. The best part is that it’s pretty easy to make and apply. All you need to do is mash 1/4 of a banana until you get a smooth paste.
Then put a thin layer on your forehead and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. After that, just rinse it off with warm water and you’ll feel your forehead become smoother and moisturized.
2. Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits are rich in vitamins E and C, which can provide additional smoothness to your skin and also improve overall skin health. While you can directly apply your choice of citrus fruit (lemon, orange, grapefruit, etc.) to the forehead and let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing, there is a simple mask that will probably give you better results.
In a bowl, add 1/4 cup of fresh orange juice and add flour — just enough to make a creamy paste. Apply it to your forehead and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
3. Natural oils
Both coconut and olive oil can improve skin elasticity by moisturizing it. Dry skin is not elastic enough, which makes wrinkles more visible. When you focus on moisturizing the forehead, the skin might become more elastic.
Apply olive or coconut oil before going to bed, right after you wash your face. Work the oil directly into the wrinkles of your forehead and massage it until the skin doesn’t feel greasy anymore. You can actually make a mix of both oils if you wish.
4. Egg whites
Egg whites can contribute to improving the skin’s appearance on your forehead. However, instead of just applying the egg white, you can mix it with honey. This mask will not only help you reduce your forehead wrinkles, but it will also help to tone your skin.
In a bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 1 egg white. Apply it to your forehead (or even on your whole face and neck). Let it rest for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water.
5. Forehead exercises
Training the muscles on your forehead will reduce wrinkles and also correct droopy eyelids. Here is how to do it:
- Place your hands in the shape of “C” on your eyes, as if you want to hold your eyes open. Keep the index finger on the eyebrow and the thumbs on each side near the nose, above the nostrils.
- Press each hand sideways and downward, open your chest, and roll the shoulder blades.
- Open the eyes wide and hold for 5 seconds. Press the index finger to prevent the brows from moving.
- Squint your eyes 5 times and close your eyes. Relax 5 seconds and repeat 2 more times.
